Contractor who was born in Mumbai living in Nigeria from the time she was seven years old, had a lot of knowledge about different cultures around the world and was able to travel in such a short time. Her education was at an boarding school in London between the ages of 7 and 9. Her family later moved away from London in Toronto, Canada. Contractor was a wonderful scholar in Toronto and was trained to be the classical ballet dancer. She was enrolled in the Etobicoke School of the Arts. It's a high school that teaches arts in which she didn't just learn about theater, but also dance as well. At 16 and after more than 10 years of dancing Contractor discovered she was looking to take up acting as a profession. When she graduated from high school, Contractor received a scholarship from the University of Toronto to pursue a dual major in sociology and psychology. She also earned an advanced degree in theatre. Contractor was a student who'd completed her university degree, went on to audition at an open call for Pericles which was held at the highly acclaimed Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canada] and won the role. The 92 productions she performed were praised by Canadian theater critics. She was invited to attend Stratford's conservatory, a program that allows only four males and eight females can attend the 20-week crash training in classical theater. The role was secured for Contractor during the upcoming series of plays She was also offered Hermia's role as Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
